Electrical Engineer (whyalla, SA, AU)
About the role
You will be responsible for provision of Electrical asset management services for our hematite operations, contributing to improved equipment availability and production performance. The role will also provide technical support to site teams to prevent and recover from equipment and control system faults.
Other accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead asset management activities to identify maintenance required for achieving improved electrical asset reliability
- Ensure all electrical equipment requiring legislative and statutory inspections and/or maintenance is identified and captured in SAP and incorporated into the asset strategy
- Ensure adequate information for executing electrical maintenance strategies and processes is captured in task lists and work instructions for performing precision maintenance in a safe, efficient, and effective manner
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) for events which significantly impact electrical asset reliability and maintainability at the Operation and implement permanent corrective actions that decrease the probability of reoccurrence
- Champion safety through observation, intervention and direction for the development and execution of safety improvements
About your experience
You are an experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong focus on safety and quality. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple groups of internal stakeholders, contractors and other specialists.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in maintaining electrical assets including control systems within mining, manufacturing or other production environments
Experience in the following is advantageous:
- SCADA: Rockwell & ME. PLC: RS Logix 5000 & studio 5000
- Drives program: Rockwell connected components workbench
- Drives: Allen Bradley Rockwell drives
