Director of Sales (Newcastle, NSW, AU)

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager of the Wire business, you will be a commercial astute professional responsible for maximizing sales and profitability of the industrial wire products range, with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships.

 

Key responsibilities include;

  • Identify trends to develop and implement appropriate sales strategies and long-term business plans aligned with Value Proposition and financial targets
  • Planning, reporting and analysis of sales performance against budget and forecast, and implementing improvements
  • Lead and develop a team and build strong relationships across all key industry stakeholders
  • Maintain and consistently improve relationships with large national accounts, travelling within Australia and New Zealand to manage customer experience
  • Provide Sales Managers clarity of responsibility for managing relationships and delivering outcomes
  • Maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage over both import and domestic competitor market offers

About your experience

Our ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with exceptional leadership ability who has a proven track record in Sales, strong commercial acumen and B2B experience. You will work autonomously as well as part of a team and can take ownership of your work. You are passionate about driving outcomes of your team as well as building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

 

You will also possess:

 

  • Self-motivation and tenacity with values which are aligned to ours
  • 5+ Years in Sales management role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large sales region autonomously
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Excellent organisation, planning and coordination skills
  • Honesty, integrity and an authentic communication style
  • Previous leadership experience, coaching and mentoring in sales environment
  • Proficient computer skills with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Influencing skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities and stakeholders
  • Material science or metallurgical background would be beneficial however not essential
