Despatch Superintendent (Newcastle, NSW, AU)

Leading and supporting the Despatch team at Infrabuild Wire based in Mayfield you will ensure the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of all products to our customers. As the Despatch Superintendent you will be responsible for all transport capacity planning, carrier performance management and successful implementation of freight and logistics initiatives.

The primary tasks include;

  • Leading and managing performance of the Despatch team
  • Liaise with transport providers, Internal Operations, Sales and Production teams
  • Executing logistic plans to move products and deliver orders in-full and on time (dIFOT)
  • Drive continuous improvement programs cost savings, service, and safety improvements
  • Developed and execute strategies to drive down delivery and freight/handling costs.
  • Analyse orders to optimise transport planning and load picking to meet targets
  • Leading safety compliance and improvement with internal and external stakeholders

About your experience

We are looking for an experienced Leader who is highly motivated and can positively influence people’s behaviours and actions to achieve business outcomes. You will be energetic with a strong people and team focus you will prioritise safety and performance during day-to-day operations.

You will also have;

  • Demonstrated Leadership experience, preferably in a similar role within Logistic or Warehouse environment
  • Any formal qualifications in Logistics will be highly regarded
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to engage with all levels of the business
  • Ability to problem solve and manage a variety of challenges and priorities
  • Great attention to detail, specifically in relation to accurate record keeping and document preparation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient Computer skills with MS Office and exposure to SAP system desirable.
