Despatch & Production Co-ordinator (Dandenong, VIC, AU)

About the role

In a made-to-order environment, you will be responsible for the distribution function of the site, coordinating the despatch and transport activities through interaction with operations, sales, planning and scheduling teams. You will also support the production planning function of the branch and be part of a small close knit and supportive team.  Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, servicing clients in the building and construction industry.

This role is Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3:30pm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct load/despatch confirmations
  • Manage same day orders and additions 
  • Prepare and issue delivery documentation
  • Prepare and manage truck schedule in accordance with priorities and truck capacity limits
  • Manage adhoc vehicle requirements 
  • Manage freight to budgeted freight costs and DIFOT targets
  • Production planning support and coverage as required
     

About your experience

We are looking for a proactive individual with an ability to problem solve. This person will enjoy working in a small team and be highly organised and have a strong attention to detail.

You also have:

  • Manufacturing, Production, Transport experience is preferred 
  • Administration experience is preferred but not essential
  • Experience with scheduling delivery sequences efficiently and safely
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across all stakeholder levels.
  • A Safety First mindset as a core value
  • Passionate and outcomes oriented with a decisive nature
