Despatch Office Clerk – Administration All Rounder (Mackay, QLD, AU)

About the role

Due to an internal promotion, our North Mackay branch is on the hunt for a new Despatch Office Clerk – Administration All Rounder

Experience in Despatch planning and scheduling well regraded, however not essential with on-the-job training provided, and an ability to learn is critical.  

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To liaise with and assist with the warehouse operational team planning, scheduling, and coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure orders are despatched accurately – on time and in full.
  • To successfully liaise with transport partners for booking deliveries and collections both manually and within the confines of third-party booking platforms.
  • The dexterity to adapt and react to changes quickly to ensure effortless transition from old procedures to new when change is required by the business.
  • To identify and resolve the root cause of errors to avoid potential repetition.
     

About your experience

As a Despatch Office Clerk, attention to detail is critical in this role, along with time management and organisational skills. 

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience or knowledge of the transport industry and load compliance is advantageous.
  • A safety-first mindset and adhere to all policies, standards, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • An ability to work well autonomously and within a wider team environment.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn. 
  • At times the role can be busy and an ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-moving environment is key to success. 
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • SAP experience (desirable, but not essential)
  • You are a team player who values and respects all other members of the team
