Control Systems Engineer (Rooty Hill, NSW, AU)

About the role

The focus of the role is to lead the technical analysis and resolution of process & equipment problems by identifying the root causes of plant and equipment breakdowns and to implement countermeasures. This can involve coordination between maintenance & cross-functional teams including external technical resources
 

Duties will include:
 

  • Management of the maintenance and administration of plant’s SCADA and PLC networks
  • Support for the maintenance team in the continuing improvement initiatives, technical review & audit, development of technical & budgetary proposals
  • Technical direction and support to the melt shop in maintaining and updating maintenance documentation
  • Engineering support servicing as technical resource for Production and to other support groups in the investigation & analysis of production & quality issues,
  • Process optimisation and research & development initiatives including upgrading projects to improve plant’s operation, efficiency, and compliance to safety & environmental regulations.
  • Technical support regarding purchasing of spares, and particularly major fabricated components often dealing with local and overseas suppliers to provide clarification about specific requirements.
  • Design, project engineering and project management services or small to medium in-house projects.
     

About your experience

The ideal candidate will have:
 

  • Experience in PLC programming and networking
  • Safety as a core value. Understanding of legislative safety requirements (the need to provide safe systems of work)
  • Degree appropriate electrical, mechatronics discipline
  • Proven track record in problem solving
  • Ability to Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Budgetary management experience
  • Written and Oral communication skills
