Our Graduate Program 
It is a 2-year fixed term contract commencing on 22 January 2024.You will find yourself working on-site and alongside leading professionals in their field. With a structured professional development program, you will participate in exciting projects, gain exposure to our mining operations and continue building your interpersonal and professional experience in a safe working environment. 

 

As a Communications Graduate, you will be pivotal in shaping our external communication strategies and fostering trust with stakeholders, including the local community. Collaborating closely with on-site and corporate teams, you’ll develop and execute multi-stage communication plans, media relations strategies, and a range of impactful content.

 

  • Collaborate with on-site and corporate teams to strategise and execute communication plans, including media relations.
  • Craft well-researched, clear, and consistent business communications, from announcements to multimedia presentations.
  • Develop and manage the content lifecycle, ensuring relevant and compelling messaging.
  • Understand the diverse needs of various audience groups and guide strategic priorities accordingly.
  • Create and manage internal communication platforms, maximising value through intranet and enterprise social networks.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop employee messaging and communication plans, enhancing capability.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to drive collaboration and innovation.
  • Contribute to the planning, launching, and managing of stakeholder events and activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the larger GFG Group Communications team to align efforts and achieve collective goals.

 

You will be required to work on a Monday to Friday dayshift schedule, and there might be instances where working backshifts is necessary. Temporary local relocation for the program’s duration will be expected, and we offer a certain degree of relocation assistance.

To be eligible, you will:

  • Have unlimited Australian working rights for the duration of your placement in and currently residing in NSW, Australia; 
  • Be studying in a relevant Communications, Public Relations and Journalism discipline at an Australian or New Zealand University;
  • In your final year of study or have graduated in the last 2 years. Please include a transcript or recent results with your CV;
  • Have a keen interest in the mining industry or heavy industry
