Category Manager (Adelaide, SA, AU)
About the role
Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will contribute to the business success of Liberty Primary Steel through engaging with suppliers and managing the significant contractors and sourcing events for the Whyalla businesses in alignment with the category, portfolio, capital and business plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating regular contract performance reviews and monitor contract performance
- Auditing contractors to verify compliance to the agreed standards and contract requirements
- Developing and implementing strategies to deliver increased value from contract relationships
- Developing and implementing Portfolio / Category Management plans
- Developing and implementing strategies to rectify non-compliance in contracts and dispute resolution.
About your experience
You are experienced in managing a complex organizational environment and are highly skilled in building strong internal and external relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Purchasing or similar or equivalent experience
- CIPS qualification highly advantageous
- High level negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High Level analytical skills with proven ability to model, analyse and summarise data
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating and implementing contracts, including a thorough knowledge of legal requirements
- Background in a similar manufacturing, mining, oil and gas or heavy industry environment.
