Assistant Accountant (Chipping Norton, NSW, AU)

About the role

Reporting to the National Accounting Manager, you will work in our National Accounting & Reporting Team at our Chipping Norton site. You will be responsible for demonstrating the core values of safety, customer, and governance. You will be ensuring that all unreconciled items are current and reviewed within a month, all reconciliations are prepared and authorised according to the policy and all documentation is on order and up to date.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Month end accounting and reporting tasks
  • Assisting in internal audit and the preparation/review of monthly financial, operational and compliance reports
  • Management/Financial analysis when required
  • Monthly reconcilaition of Balance Sheet accounts and review of aged open items in the balance sheet
  • Reconciliation of cash payments
  • Automating the report generation through use of Excel models and other IT tools
  • Coordinating and participating in customer reviews both internally and externally

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Experience in a similar role in an office-based environment
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business or enrolled in CA/CPA program
  • Experience with Excel to run formulas and good knowledge of accounting principles and cash flows
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in SAP and knowledge in computer systems are beneficial
