Apprentice Mechanical Fitter – 2025 Apprenticeship Program – Newcastle (Newcastle, NSW, AU)


Are you ready to kickstart an awesome career in the steel industry? We’re looking for Apprentices to join us starting Monday, 28th January 2025. 


About the opportunity

InfraBuild has over 100 years of history in Newcastle, and this is your opportunity start an apprenticeship in Mechanical (Fitter) or Electrical trade. Our program combines hands-on experience with TAFE study, offering rotations through different departments to learn from industry experts. 


It’s challenging but rewarding, with a supportive team and experienced mentors to guide you. This is your chance to be part of our dynamic, evolving business and help shape the future.

About you

We’re looking for motivated, hands-on problem solvers who are ready to dive in and make things happen. Initiative and commitment are key.


As an InfraBuild Apprentice, you will need to be:

  • At least 16 years old and have completed Year 10
  • Safety-focused and eager to learn with top-notch listening skills
  • A team player and mechanically minded with a process-oriented approach
  • Able to travel to and from the site daily for shifts and TAFE as needed


Make sure include a cover letter as part of your application. A few things to include:

  • A little introduction about yourself and your future ambitions
  • Why you want to do an apprenticeship and why you want to work with us
  • Let us know which apprenticeship you’re applying for (Mechanical, CNC Machining, or Electrical) and 
  • Why you would be the perfect fit for this opportunity


Your resume should have information about:

  • Your highest education level along with copies of your last two years of school or TAFE results
  • List down any training/course certificates you have already or in the process of completing
  • A letter from your employer or authorized person where you’ve worked or done work experience
