Afternoon Shift Supervisor (Coopers Plains, QLD, AU)

About the role

Join the leading steel distributor as a key member of the site operations leadership team. As a driven team leader, you will be responsible for high volume, time-sensitive processing, picking, packing and loading of orders. Driving both operational efficiencies along with safety protocols, and achieving shift targets and individual goals. You will be instrumental to the success of the branch by providing strong leadership, safety and operational supervision skills and ensuring DIFOT targets are met, driving a strong safety culture and training the afternoon shift operations team to develop their capabilities.

 

The priorities of the role will include:
 

  • Lead and mentor the team 
  • Drive a strong safety and high-performance culture
  • Motivate and empower the team to reach business performance targets and goals.

 

You will also have:
 

  • Great communication and leadership skills
  • Championing a strong safety & performance culture
  • Promote a customer-centric approach
  • Background in warehousing, manufacturing or distribution
  • Competent computer experience
  • Implementing a continuous improvement focus
  • Experience in a supervisory role (2-3 years preferred)
  • Managed a team size of 6 – 20+ personnel
